30 November 2010

I believe that my blog is having an identity crisis.

First off, it has been neglected and abused.  Actually, just neglected, but that is in part to my lack of attention.

Second, it is totally upset since my name has changed.  Yes, loyal fans, my last name has changed and I got hitched.  It was a magical day full of sunshine, champagne, sequins and love.

Thus, I need to figure out pronto how to also change my blog from a "Robinson" to a "Bailey" - any ideas blogosphere?  I may need to create a new URL, which I guess would give me a fresh start and encourage me to write more.

Anyways, I hope that you all had a fab Thanksgiving.  I ate too much and am re-reading Harry Potter 7.  It.is.life.changing.  I saw the movie with my life partner (this is how I am going to refer to my new husband, I will not be using the term hubby or hubba, gross) and decided that I must read this wonderful piece of literature again to remind myself of all the wonderful things that were left out of the movie.  Now, don't get me wrong, I loved the movie - but there are so many details in the books that just make them that much better.  Ok, ok, I will stop before I sound like a total nerd.

In other news - T. Swift is dating Jake Gyllenhaal.  Um, what?!?!  Now, I never would have picked these two to get together, but I secretly like it.  They were seen in NYC and Nashville over the holidays - what jetsetters.  I bet she has already written two songs about them - one about how they fall in love and have babies and the other if he breaks her heart and then starts dating Kate Hudson.  Jake must have some fetish for TN girls - he has been linked to both Reese and T.Swift, both from the Nashville area.

Wow, it feels great to write about celebrities.  My life partner does not share my same obsession with them, so it is great to share with all my loyal readers.  Now, I am going to drink my overpriced latte and do a little online shopping, what do you think about these items below?

13 August 2010

Happy Friday!  I  had a wonderful week filled with socials, birthday cupcakes, manis/pedis and Jillian Michael's kicking my butt.  Some things I am loving this week...

Here I am at age 7 - already a diva rocking my windsuit.

Enjoy some pink and gold inspiration for your weekend - via Pink Book.

Sugarland station on my pandora channel.

Chuck Bass.

Britney seen entering a recording studio.  OMGEE.  And it was confirmed that there will be a Britney epsiode on Glee this fall.  I am already using my Darin's Dance Grooves VHS to relearn the moves to "Oops I did it again."

Taylor Swift's new single.  BOMB.  Enjoy... you will probably listen to it over and over (I have).

04 August 2010

As promised, Miss Janna Tacker will be providing her insightful ideas on home buying.  Sorry for the delay in this post.  Her dog Bojangles was attacked by ants yesterday and after they both spent all night in the emergency room, Boj is fine and loving life.  Miss Tacker is glad that her precious baby is doing alright, but now has a disdain for ants.  But who doesn't?  After I saw "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" and there was a crazy ant in the backyard, I never liked those crazy creatures.  Anyways... back to the guest post.  Whether you are in the market for a new home or not, Miss Tacker's advice will prove helpful and insightful.

"For those of you who haven’t experienced the joys of home ownership, I will share my newly found plethora of knowledge. If you find yourself in the housing market just follow these guidelines and everything will be smooth sailing.
·         Don’t watch HGTV during your home search. It will only infuriate you. It takes a lot more than one day, three houses, and one piece of paper to have the place of your dreams.  In my particular case, it took about twenty houses, three months, a six inch stack of papers, and most of my sanity. I thought finding a home was a pain and wish I had a personal assistant to go screen homes for me (kind of like Kimora Lee Simmon’s in the Fab Life).

·         Strongly consider move-in-ready homes. I personally did not follow this rule (you will see why); I did a complete reno. My house is now super fabulous and precisely to my liking, but renovating your first home is SUPER high stress. Also, as soon as your neighbors see you tearing your house apart they will come by at the most inconvenient times asking to see what you’ve done( I do ,however, enjoy showing everyone how fab my home is).  Bottom line, save the renovations for a point in your life when time and money are abundant.

·         Locate the nearest Lowe’s. Before signing on the dotted line (lines actually), scout out your nearest Lowe’s. Is it under two miles away? Okay, go ahead and sign. If not, reconsider. Lowe’s will be your second home; don’t be surprised to find yourself roaming these aisles 3-4 times a weekend. The workers may even learn your name, and after a few months they could be your facebook friends. Is there a Home Depot nearby? Gross. Move to a different part of town.

Basically, finding a home can be a nightmare but totally worth it in the end (especially if you follow my rules)! I’m sure everyone is DYING to see the inside of my home, and even though Cribs is coming to shoot an episode in a few weeks I will give you all a sneak peak."

02 August 2010

Also, Miss Janna Tacker will be guest blogging about the process of buying a home.  Here is a teaser for my loyal followers.

"Locate the nearest Lowe’s. Before signing on the dotted line (lines actually), scout out your nearest Lowe’s. Is it under two miles away? Okay, go ahead and sign. If not, reconsider. This past weekend, I ate family style at Maggianos.  Amazing food.  We had two helpings of everything: salad, appetizers, pastas, entrees and of course dessert.  Not amazing for my butt though, how am I ever going to get to my goal weight of 90 lbs?

Since I had such a good time eating family style, I created a collage for my Pink Book post today, and wanted to share.

29 July 2010

Finally, two new seasons will hit the airwaves tonight.  GTL and PR are back people.  So now I can actually watch the shows I really like, instead of having to watch repeats of Law and Order (which I still love... but once I get half way through an episode, I remember that I have seen it before and then automatically know the ending).  So...without further ado... the two shows I will be watching at 9 and 10 tonight are:

Project Runway.  Make it work.  Can't wait to see Heidi and Tim pick a new fashion designer in one of the best cities in the world.

And then, a guilty pleasure - Jersey Shore.  While I don't endorse some of their crazy behaviors, I am still in awe week after week that Snooki is a real person.  Thanks goodness I was born in the south.

Peace, Love, and Dancing - GAGA

Now, it is time for the promised guest blog... Lady Gaga coverage from Miss Alicia Dean.  I am so jeal that she was able to experience Gaga in person.  This post def makes me want to go to an upcoming show... she is coming to Atlanta in April, who wants to come with?

"Hello MMR Viewers!  I'm back again to report my exciting travels of the lifestyles of the not so rich and famous.  I am fortunate enough to be able to tell you about my one-time-only experience at the Monster Ball.  Yes, I attended Lady Gaga's out of this world show a couple of weeks ago.

Back in April when tickets first went on sale, the closest place she was performing near me was St. Louis.  My thought process was, "Well, St. Louis is fun, only about 4 hours away, and who knows if I will ever get this opportunity again...so why not?"  So I convinced four of my friends to come and we have more fun than ever expected.

I was a little shocked to find tons of protesters outside of the area hours before her show began.  Gaga even tweeted her thoughts, and though that was an interesting start to the evening, she wasn't going to let anyone bring her down.  The fabulous Gaga opened with "Just Dance", which was a perfect way to get the crowd going.  I don't think I stopped dancing the entire concert.  And as her reputation follows her, she had multiple costume changes that were more than impressive.  My favorite costume was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.  It looked like the ice queen meets Gaga in her own, quirky way.  At one point, before she sang "Telephone", she sat down on a barstool in the middle of the stage and started talking about her fans and how she needed to connect with them... then you hear a phone dialing...she had called an audience member's cell phone and talked to her while on stage!  Obvi, this was planned out because there was a microphone connected to the girl in the audience, but still a very cool and unique way to open the appropriate song.  She of course brought out all of her favorites, including "Speechless", "Monster", and "Teeth" and performed "Bad Romance" as her encore.

My friend Rebekah and I wore the same dress, covered in multi-colored sequins, which we felt was completely appropriate for the Monster Ball.  I can only imagine where I will be allowed to wear this dress again.  I will say that atmosphere of the show was something I've never experienced before.  No one was judging you and everyone was on the same page; everyone just wanted to have a good time and dance like no one was watching.

That is what Lady Gag brings to the world: Peace, Love and Dancing."

Wow!  Thanks Miss Dean, what a show.  And I will make a note that I own the same sequined dress, and I think you can rock that thing whenever you want... just think, Gaga would.
Just bought this gorgeous Tibi dress... as you can see, one of my favorite labels.  Wish I could afford the entire line.  Found on saks.com.

Loving this dress from Tibi, found on shopbop.com

Help!  I need someone to help me design a look that is "unique" to my blog... so I don't have to keep using the google templates... any ideas anyone?  I am still playing around with my looks.  Make comments on what you like and what you don't like.

I also think that I am going to post smaller blogs, more frequently - what do you think?  I am copying a few blogs that I frequently visit on the world wide web - because I love their format.

And a preview of what is to come... Miss Alicia Dean, guest blogger on Vegas is in the works writing a great piece about her experience at a Lady Gaga concert.  Hold your breath in anticipation, this will be a good one.

And, please notice the bottom of each post - you can now gmail, blog, tweet, facebook my posts.  So, now everyone can hear about how fab you are for reading this fab blog!

An Italian Villa and a Twinkie Cake

Brangelina just made a little purchase of an Italian villa... and by little I mean a $40 million house that includes 7 bathrooms, a home cinema and a private gym.  Oh the life... I just dream of the day when they will invite me to come and have drinks by the pool while Shiloh and Maddox run around and have a cannon ball contest.  They.are.so.fab.

I am so over the fact that Lindsay Lohan is in jail.  Duh, we know already.  But I am so in love with the fact that you can send her a care package filled with delectable goodies such as KitKats, Ramen Noodles and the necessary phone card... too bad she can't tweet while she is in that cell.  To see if this was a true posting, I proceeded on to the website where you can send these pacakages, and let me tell you, it is legit.  I don't have the pricing though, because you have to sign up for a free account, and I just did not want my e-mail on the Inmate Package Program's Listserve.

After my last post about my new sunless tanner find, a great friend named Lauren, who also has Cullen-esque fair skin like myself, sent me an e-mail about an even better product.  Neutrogena Microclear 3 shades Darker tanning mist (not 2 shades, must get 3!) - after one spray, it looks like you have been to Mexico for a week.  This is a shoutout to Miss Busby for the great tip!

And to end the week on a fun note - what if I had this cake made entirely out of Twinkies at my wedding?  OMG - Loving the use of a great snack, but not loving the fact that I would probably be considered the "twinkie" cake girl the rest of my life, and that would just be terrible.

Goodbye to The Hills and Something the Cullen's Won't Like

Last night an era ended.  The last episode of The Hills aired on MTV.

Though I will admit I really have not watched this scripted show since LC left, I did enjoy catching up on all my favorite memories this past weekend with MTV chose to show each and every episode.  I remember when Laguna Beach aired, LC, Lo, Stephen all graduated high school the same year as me, so basically I knew exactly what they were going through and just knew that we would be friends if our paths ever crossed.  So last night I was a little let down as the seemingly boring finale aired.  That was until the last few minutes - and the last shot that you thought was taking place outside actually cut to a studio.  GASP!  It was all fake!  I knew it was scripted, but thought the drama was real.  So my mind got to thinking, are Heidi and LC friends?  Does Lo like being in Kristin's presence?  So many unanswered questions!  I am going to have to journey to The Hills, find Audrina, and get the scoop.  Once this happens I will immediatley report it to you my little monsters.

If you missed the last few minutes - check it out on Perez Hilton.

As my loyal followers know, I am of the pale skin race.  So, when I heard about spray tans back in high school, I thought these were the next best thing since Diet Coke.  I started getting them a few times in high school, just to give me a natural glow and a little color.  One day when I am super rich and still fabulous, I am going to hire someone to come to my house once a week and spray me.  Since I am just fabulous now, I have to find creative ways to get my tan on during the summer.  I just discovered Jergen's Natural Glow Moisturizing Foam.  (No, not the lotion, I was never a fan and believe me I have tried almost every sunless tanning product on the market, from Sephora to Lindsay Lohan's spray.)  The foam is so easy to use, has a light scent and dries so fast.  I put some on this morning and am enjoying a nice glow.  So, run, don't walk, to the nearest Target and pick some up.  Though I will have to say, the Cullen's won't like that I am using this product.  But let's face the truth: Even when I use the foam or get spray tanned, I am still paler than about 97% of the US population.

Around the World in 90 Days

My little monsters... I am channeling my inner Lady Gaga today after her Today Show performance.  Can't get her new song out of my head.  Now back to the beginning, My little monsters... I have been out and about and have not been able to write.  But I do love all of my followers and promise to be better about updating.

You wonder - what have I been up to?  Everything fabulous of course...

1. Went to Forks to visit the hometown of Bella, Edward and Jacob.  If you don't know what I am talking about skip to number 2.  The Eclipse movie has been my favorite so far, and I am still waiting to be asked to join the Cullen clan.  I also have a new obsession with Taylor Lautner... he is 18, right?

2. Being Pink Lady Mollie.  If you must know, I am entering into holy matrimony very soon.  Gifts are apperciated, contact my assistant for a delivery address.  And let me tell you...wedding planning is a blast but also includes a lot of hair pulling.  Somedays I wish we were eloping on a Greek Island, but then everyone knows I love being the center of attention, so how can I turn down a day when it is truly all about me?

3. Getting totally fit with my personal trainer.  Actually that is a little bit of an exaggeration.  Yes, I have a trainer, but no I am not totally fit.  During my analysis, she quickly told me that I have no upper arm strength and that is the main thing to work on.  She came to this conclusion after I could only do 2 real push-ups.  It was so great to learn after my first session that I had to pay someone to really work me out. (that should be in sarcasm font)  Guess that my 25 minutes on the elliptical is not a true cardio blaster.

4. Stalking Justin Bieber.  I.can't.get.enough.  LOVE this video.

I am also working on a new layout to the blog, so let me know what you like and what you don't.  I also am working on a new angle... of course  I love telling everyone about my fab life and celeb obsessions, but I may add some new things to the blog recipe.

Best.E-mail.Ever.

It arrived in my inbox yesterday...
The Glee audition e-mail.

I started to dance up and down and immediately went on to read the email in its entirety three and a half times.  Now, I must prepare my audition video and send it in.  O.M.Glee.  I, of course, will keep you all updated.

I also heard from GG that Taylor Swift has been seen with two guys -- on a lunch date again with Taylor Lautner (yay!) and out with Cory Monteith (Finn from Glee).  Either way, she wins.  I am personally calling for Team Jacob just because I love the name T-Squared.

And now I must end this post briefly... Anthony, my fave southern designer on PR, was recently kicked off.  I knew that he was not going to make it to Bryant Park, but just loved his comments and a lot of his work.  I I believe that he could design a dress for me, and then we could go out and eat some fried chicken together.  I will def be looking for his clothing line.

Two Thoughts on a Friday

So it is almost the beginning of April, and I am still wearing boots.  This def makes the point of my new pedi almost as obsolete as a tape player.  I am ready for the rain to go away and for the sun to come out and shine down on us.  A few extra degrees wouldn't hurt either.

I am excited today for two reasons:
1. I am going to eat lunch with a good friend I have not seen in a long time - don't you just love catching up?  I think it could be a hobby of mine.  I love keeping in touch with my friends, and even when it has been several months, we can pick up right where left out.  And another amazing thing about this lunch... we are going to my fave sush place - Nam.  (Translation: Favorite sushi place - Nama)

2. I am going to get my hair trimmed.  You may think this is ridic, but I really don't care.  I love going to Salon Visage because they do such a fab job and I feel like a celeb whenever I am there.  I have recently switched to the Market Square location, and love it because it is more laid back and my stylists are the bomb.

Oh yes - and the Vols are playing in the Sweet 16.

MGB tells me that I will have to start liking basketball a lot more once we are married.  I mean, I understand that marriage is about compromise... but I just can't see him starting to watch Project Runway.  Maybe with time, it's just so amazing.

Speaking of Project Runway, I missed last night's episode, so will be blogging about that at a later date.  Please don't tell me who gets kicked off.  I also think that Maya and Mila look exactly alike...do you agree?  One of them has got to go soon.  And Grey's Anatomy was a little less than thrilling last night.  Yes, yes, I still watch Grey's and I think it is still very good.  But I am just tired of everyone dating McSteamy - I mean he is good looking, but that story line is over played.

(In other personal news - my words with friends is back and running.  I even had to go to the Apple Store for help, so hit me up if you like to play.)

Elevators and Free Swag

Well, my first Pink Lady post per my engagement is up - check it out.  (Side note, it is rather cheesy, but very fun.)

I have come to the realization that there are two types of etiquette that need to be dealt with - elevator and gym.  The other day I was patiently waiting to pump some iron (actually just about ten pounds, but that is more than zero) while Mr. Macho was sitting on the same machine I needed to use just chatting away on his cell phone about the kegger he was going to that night.  Um excuse me... get off the machine if you are not using it.  After he took ANOTHER phone call, he finally got up and I quickly swooped in to get the machine.  I carefully watched Mr. Macho go to another machine (thankfully, it was one that has too many bells and whistles for me) and he proceeded to stay on the cell phone.  Ridic.  And elevators... in my new swanky office building I have the privilege of riding elevators each and every day.  Don't you just hate when someone gets on before you get off?  I got side swiped by a foreign exchange student yesterday who was wearing "a not so comfortable to the skin" fabric.  If only I had my own elevator that goes directly to my office, just like Serena has one to her penthouse in GG.

So I tried to get into Dancing with the Stars last night, and just could not do it.  I know, tons of celebs dancing in sequins... it does seem as if I would love this show.  Did you have any favorites from last night?  I do like Niecy Nash from Clean House though... I am pulling for her to win it all.

And today I am so excited because UT is giving away FREE food - and who doesn't love free swag?  If you are in Knoxville, you def have to check out these deals:
- Today: Free Pizza Hut Breadsticks (Bomb - lived on these freshmen year in Humes Hall)
-Tomorrow: Free Smoothies at the gym
- Thursday: Free Pancakes... one of my fave foods.  Can't wait to go over to IHOP for these.
If you would like to join me, just send me a note and we can go and get free swag together.

Letter to the Edtior and Oscar Curse

Basically, I am famous. Want to know why? No, it's not because I have a blog. Well that is part of it... but I am a published author. Now, I am going a little over the top here because I was just published in The Daily Beacon, BUT it is a great honor and if you are on UT's campus, you must check it out. It's a letter to the editor. If you don't have the privilege of living in God's country, then check it out here.

I also want to update all of you that I will be chronicling my engagement over on The Pink Book Blog. My boss wants brides across the country to relate to my story, so if you love weddings, stories or just me, be sure to follow my stories. I will keep the links updated on this blog as well.

So, I was perusing my twitter feed the other day and noticed a very interesting tweet by a friend - he was talking about an article he found that said people who engage in deeper conversation compared to small talk are actually happier and healthier. I got to thinking about that - and I completely agree. How many people do you have small talk with on a daily basis? I mean, it's necessary if it's with that person you ride the elevator with every morning. But what if you asked them out of the blue a question to get to know them more? It will probably make their day brighter, and you have found a new network within the office and also a potential friend.

Did you know that Dunkin Donuts is giving away free coffee on Mondays for the rest of this month? You must go check it out now...or actually on Monday. I got mine this past week and also had to get a caffeine fix for today. Fridays are so cruel, you just want to relax, take a long weekend, and not answer your e-mail. But instead you trudge to work and make it rain... at least I have to have a coffee to make this work.

Has anyone seen Brad and Angie lately? I was so disappointed that they were not at the Oscars. They probably were in a third world country adopting another child and then flying off on a private jet drinking champagne. Oh the life.

And on another note... Jesse James is an idiot. Poor Sandra Bullock has fallen under the Oscar curse. What is the Oscar curse you may say? If you are asking this then you really don't know anything about celebs, but I will enlighten you anyways. It is the curse that happen to these beautiful actresses who win the Oscar for Best (Supporting) Actress, and then their personal lives start to fall apart. Look at Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Kate Winslet, Hilary Swank. These women are bigger than life, and then their husbands/boyfriends pull a Tiger Woods. I am pulling for you Sandra!

Fashion Forward

Lately I have not been sleeping well.  I don't know if it's the new added excitement in my life or that I have been drinking more caffeine closer to bed time, but it (meaning sleep) is just not working for me.  A fab person always needs their beauty sleep (that goes for you guys as well), so tonight I am going to try some hot tea (decaf, of course) before bed.  But one good thing about my irregular sleep patterns is that I have time to think about upcoming blog posts.  So this morning around 3:30 am I decided to dedicate a post to fashion, both for males and females.

The other night I went to dinner with some friends and one of my guy friends was sporting an awesome cardigan.  I love this look on guys - it adds a little dressiness to a typical button down and jeans look.  This look comes from Banana Republic, but you can always find a more economical version at Old Navy, Target or even TJ Maxx.

PLEASE remember... NEVER wear skinny jeans unless you are a Jonas Brother.  Most southern girls are not into a guy who has tighter jeans on than she does.  And if she is, chances are she is a transplant who was raised north of the Mason Dixon line.

For girls... I am loving big, chunky watches.  Michael Kors has some great new options out there -- this is one of my favorites:

You can get these anywhere as well.  Be sure to just wear this on one arm, and limit your other arm to one bracelet.

These looks are perfect for a night out on the town or a fun Sunday Brunch at Gourmet Market.  If you go to brunch, you MUST check out the chocolate chip pancakes.  If you have any sleep remedies to share, please let me know ASAP.  Also, if you need any fashion advice, leave word with my assistant and I will back to you ASAP.
