Well readers, the Oscar Red Carpet did not disappoint. I was loving all of the sequins, feathers, beading, texture, color that was modeled by the fabulous celebs. My best dressed look of the night goes to... Cate Blanchett. I loved the color, the style and of course, the beautiful bead work.
{Cate Blanchett}
Worst Dressed goes to a favorite actress of mine, Nicole Kidman. Nicole killed me this red carpet season. She looked terrible at the Globes and Oscars, but I loved her at the Grammy's. She needs to get Rachel Zoe to come over and help her with the next award show.
{Nicole Kidman}
The following celebs also looked FAB. I am happy to report that the hits outweighed the misses by far, and I would love to wear any of the following looks at my next public appearance or gala.
{Mila Kunis}
{Scarlett Johansson}
{Gwyneth Paltrow}
{Hilary Swank}
{Mandy Moore}
{Reese Witherspoon}
{Amy Adams}
I also loved the following two looks, seen on two of my fave celebs, at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Dear VF, will you send me an invite next year, pretty please?
It's Oscar day. This is probably one of my favorite days of the year. I have written this before, but during my days as a child actress, I wrote several Oscar acceptance speeches. I desperately looked for them when I moved out of my parent's abode, but it seems as if they had vanished.
Really, the only two things I care about tonight are the fashion and the opening number. I am looking forward to seeing Anne Hathaway and James Franco do a musical montage before they start handing out the golden statues. Also, seeing how Natalie Portman will dress elegantly around her baby bump. No worries fab readers, tomorrow I will post my fave looks from tonight's show.
To get ready for the Oscars, I had to of course buy a new sequined dress.
I hope that one day I can have a sequin wall in my house. Actually, I would prefer to have multiple sequined walls, but I guess I would get by with one, only if it looks just like the one below at the kate spade fifth avenue shop...
I would want this wall it in my bathroom, where I would place against it one of the following vanities...
Today I am so excited because I am seeing one of my fave celebs in person in July...
...the one and only TAYLOR SWIFT! O.M.gahhhh. Hope that I somehow get picked to go backstage and meet her. I already have my sequined dress picked out and ready to wear. Too bad I have to wait till July.
Lady Gaga has released her new single "Born This Way". Listen here. I think it's amazing, reminds me of early Madonna.
I wonder if she will perform this song on the Grammys this Sunday... I sure hope so. Who are you most excited about seeing at the Grammy Awards on Sunday?
The Super Bowl to me is really the only other day besides Thanksgiving where you can pig out and no one really cares. Oh, and the time for an amazing halftime performance.
After watching the halftime show last night, I was shocked when I got on my twitter and saw so many people bashing the performance. I thought, did I really just watch the same performance as my followers? I loved it, and the reasons are listed below:
1. The outfits. The dancers looked awesome in the bodysuits with Christmas tree looking lights attached. Plus, the BEP's rocked it in the light up vests and pants. Where can I get Fergie's sequined top that had the amazing shoulder pads? {oh and while we are talking about it, the workout plan to get legs that look like her?}
2. The mix of songs. I love all of the BEP's hits, so I was grooving along the entire performance.
3. Surprise performance from no other than, U-S-H-E-R R-A-Y-M-O-N-D {baby tell me what you want to do...}
Check it out here, and let me know what you thought.
So after watching last night's halftime show a few times again this morning, I still have to state that Super Bowl 35 is by far my favorite halftime performance. Check that one out here:
Why is this video so good and so my favorite?
1. N*Sync in their prime. I went to three different N*Sync shows and this short performance, one, helped me relive each show and two, helped me remember how much I loved the show "Making The Video" on MTV. Remember when they showed you the behind the scene takes from both "Bye, Bye, Bye" & "It's Gonna Be Me"? I sure do, and still have them both on VHS at my parent's house.
2. Britney in her prime. Way before she shaved her head and married K-Fed. {I am so excited for her comeback though...}
3. Nelly running out. Country Grammar still is one of my fave songs.
4. Britney and JT were dating during this performance. Is it too much for a former teeny bopper to ask that they rendezvous and fall back in love?
5. Oh, and Aerosmith was so hot then too.
Here's hoping to getting everyone from this performance back together for next year's halftime extravaganza.
So when I saw this post via Bobbi Thomas, my heart stopped for a minute and I went to blanket heaven. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you...
THE COUCH DRESS. And it was sold for a mere $350. This is my kind of outfit to wear while lounging on the couch while watching all my besties on Glee. Another perk: while wearing it, you can change the decor of your room instantly, since the "dress" covers the entire piece of furniture.
Would you rock the couch dress? I am currently looking for a seamstress to make me a couture version I can wear while watching all my fave celebs rocking their couture gowns at the Oscars.
